Is it possible to modify and save a record automatically in the middle of the night while I'm asleep?

To be clear, I'm not talking about some formula field that for example checks a box when it is Monday, because this is not a true modification (meaning this will not fire a notification). I'm talking about officially modifying a record, such that an email notification (not a reminder and not a subscription) would be triggered on a weekly basis, without me or anyone else having to do anything. If so, how?

I have my reasons for wanting this, but first I just want to know how to do this if possible.  I'm open to non-native technical solutions.

Thanks

We have some API solutions we've used to do this very thing on a schedule, and based on some criteria.
May I ask, what are your reasons? Any other details?

I seem to recall that there was a session presented by a QuickBase staffer who demoed a free service from Google to fire off scheduled API calls. I will try to find my notes on that ......
