Formula to look up a corresponding field from a related table?
I'm a new QuickBase user. This is probably a simple question, but I don't know how to construct a formula to look up a corresponding field from a related table. I have a parent table and a child table with a one-to-many relationship. The child table contains only two fields: Code and Description. There are thousands of records in the child table, each containing a Code and a corresponding Description. The parent table has a form. One of the fields in the form allows users to manually enter a Code. Another field in the form -- which is a text formula field -- is where I want to enter a formula that will return the corresponding Description based on the Code entered in the first field. Both the Code and Description fields from the child table are part of the relationship to the parent table. I'm not sure what functions in Quickbase will produce the desired result. I've scoured online help, the knowledge base, the community, etc. for several hours. The closest I've come is finding a response saying yes, QuickBase can do this, but no instructions on how. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.8Views0likes32CommentsMultiple Conditions in a form rule using Multi Line text
I have a multi line text field 'Workout' with 3 values 'Running', 'Biking' and 'Weight Lifting' , I am trying to use dynamic rules in a way that when Running or Biking are selected from the multi line text, 2 fields 'Distance' and 'Time' should be displayed on form and when 'Weight Lifting' is selected they are hidden and other 3 fields are displayed. I can't put both the biking and running conditions in rules as they contradict each other when formed as separate rules. Can anyone help with the solution? attached is the picture.6Views1like9CommentsHow do you add links in your brand bar?
I know I saw how to do this in a post somewhere in the community, but now I can't find it! We have many users using many apps, but there is one main landing page. I would like to add a link to the landing page in the brand bar for ease of navigation.6Views1like5CommentsStill no way to hide 'New App' button?
Is there still no way to hide the New App button? It's the first button everyone tries to click, so I receive about 10 requests a week to try to create new apps. Has anyone come up with a way to remove this button?? ------------------------------ Michael Tamoush ------------------------------6Views0likes7CommentsHow do you reactivate someones account who has been put on the denied list?
Someone was put on the denied list by previous admin (who is also on the denied list now). How do I reactivate this person's account? Every time, I try to delete them and add them - they automatically go on the denied list again.5Views1like1CommentHow can I set up a Quick Base Access Request process?
We have an app where the owner wants to set up an Access Request approval process. We need for users to be able to submit a request for access to the app. Have the request route to an admin who then determines who should approve and routes the request to the correct approver. Then the approver would go in and approve the access. Finally the admin would provision the access. We would need to be able to pull quarterly reports that show each user, every app they have access to, who approved that access and when the access was provided. Does Quick Base have anything built in that would allow us to do this sort of process? I know we can build an app to do this but I was wondering if there was something already built in on the realm side.5Views0likes1CommentSelling an app to my clients...
Hi, I am working on an app that I think I can monetize, sell to several of my clients. I am having a hard time finding any guidance on how to best do this. Am I able to copy the app into their QB account? Or would it be better to keep the app in my QB account and then grant them access? If I do this for multiple clients will they be able to use SSO on their end? Hope the question makes sense. Thanks for your help!5Views2likes5CommentsPopulate Text-Multiple Choice field from column of Report Link within Quickbase table
Hello, I have Table A which has values such as Account ID, Account Name, Team Role and Email Address. The key field is the Record ID#. I have another Table B which has values such as Account ID, Opportunity ID, Opportunity Name. The key field is Opportunity ID. From this table I have created Formula-Text field to create a button which generates a survey form using API_EditRecord. The user selects an email address from a dropdown field Email Address. I have populated this Email Address field with all the email addresses from the Table A. I have created a report link between Table A & Table B based on the common value Account ID. It is not possible to create Table to Table Relationship between Table A & Table B. I want to have a mechanism such that when user decides to send survey and selects an Account ID for which the survey needs to be sent, the email address choices are only the ones associated with the Account ID in the dropdown. I am stuck in progress. Is there any way the Email Address pulls value from the Report Link field column Email Address? Or any other way to achieve my requirement? Thanks, Sarthak4Views1like1Comment
