Can't modify Comma Separated Value report

I have managed to work-around to a fix - I opened another report and went to Customize on that other report, then pasted in the qid into the URL which opened the Customize on my CSV report. I was able to change it back to default report type.
I am still interested to find the "proper" way to fix this, as this was very odd and I don't think pasting the qid into the URL can be by design the only way to do it?
