Scenario: 2 Tables (Table 1, Table 2) - each Table has many Fields, but only 1 Field on each Table is exactly the same. All of the Records in Table 1 are manually populated, and All of the Records in Table 2 are automatically populated from an API.

Table 1 Fields: Name | Approval Date | Notes |

Table 2 Fields: Name | Launch Date | Links |

Question: When a Record in Table 2 is automatically populated, can a Formula automatically iterate through all the Records in the Table 1 "Name" Field to see if the freshly populated Record in the Table 2 "Name" Field matches; and then if there is a match, to automatically edit and populate any Field within the matched Table 1 Record?

A Record in Table 1 has the Field Name Label: "John Smith"

A Record in Table 2 is automatically created, and has the Field Name Label: "John Smith"

(1) Table 2 Formula searches for a match in Table 1 "Name" Field

(2) Match Found

(3) Table 2 Formula edits and populates Table 1 "Notes" Field

Thank you!

This can be done with script. However, the script has to have precise ids to identify the tables and fields and custom code for your update logic so the code would have to be custom written for your application.
