Kanban Report Card Grouping

It seems as if cards in a Kanban report are based on the 'Text' type.  However; it seems as if I can not group cards with a 'Formula - Text' field.  Am I missing something?  Or is this not allowed?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rob

If you use text with list enabled you can drag and drop the tiles to have them change which list item they are under i.e you have a list of:
- To Do
- Freeze,
- Work In Progress
- Accept
- Done

You can drag the items between each as you choose, for instance from To Do to Work In Progress

I suspect you won't be able to use Text Formula field as it wouldn't allow for the primary function of a KANBAN report.

cheers,

Josh

You could use an Automation to push a formula result into the text field your kanban is based on, so that cards can automatically update status.

O.I.C.  - Thanks, Josh.  You are correct.  I didn't even think about the drag-drop functionality.  What a cool feature!  This has exposed a small flaw in my table architecture.  I'll do a quick re-design to take advantage of this.

You don't happen to know the max number of columns allowed, do you?
