Can I lookup the value of a filed from a child record using a summary field value on the parent record?

I have a parent table SKU and a child table Samples.

The Sample record contains the [event launch date] and the [request type].

I have a summary field on the SKU record that finds the [earliest launch date] of a related Sample. I want to pull in that related Sample's [request type].

How can I do this?

ya, so you need a reverse lookup.

You have the summary field of [[earliest launch date]

look that up back down to the sample.

Then make a new summary field of the[Record ID#] number subject to the condition at the [launch date] is equal to the value of [earliest launch date].

Great, now you know the record ID that has the information you need.  Call it [Recored ID# of earliest launch date]

Do a new reverse relationship where 1 sample has many SKUs.  On the right side use [Recored ID# of earliest launch date].

lookup the [Request type down (up?) to the SKU!
