Filtering dropdown options based on roles

I have a table A and a table B.

table B contains one field test_dropdown (type: multiple choice text field)

Table A is related to Table B (Table A will contain many records of Table B)

Now a Grid report of Table B is shown in Table A form.

test_dropdown contains multiple options as test A, test B, test C.

Now I have many roles in the application and there is one role named "Sales". Now when a user from Sales role is trying to access the Table A form, then under the grid report of Table B, the dropdown should show only test A option and not the rest.

How can I achieve this?

I don't think that there is an elegant so,Union for this. The only solution I see if to have a separate multiple choice field and based in the Role if the User, show a different embedded child table B in grid edit mode on the form.  That drop down will just have 1choice.

Then use a formula field to resolve which of the drop down fields to use on reports.
