Form rules for audit trail not triggered in grid mode

I currently use form rules for audit trail which work well when fields are edited in the form, however these form rules do not work when fields are edited in grid mode making the audit trail as such unreliable, any workarounds?

Almost all things related to a form (i.e., form rules) will not work in Grid Edit. This is a highly requested feature on UserVoice. To achieve what you are looking for, there are a few options. Some of them are using some advanced native techniques around buttons, hierarchy, etc. This would work but can be clunky in some scenarios. Happy to offer some advice there if you want to explore that route. For more robust auditing/logging requirements, we at MCFTech do have some special tools that allow us to keep track of edits, record/report views and even events such as printing a report. The ability to enforce Form rules natively within grid edit is a critical feature that should be developed to insure the form logic can not be bypassed
