I would like to know if there is a way to delete all records in a table vs. going into each record and deleting them one at a time.

Thank You

Destruction is much easier than creation. One way is to make a list all report with no filters and look for the More button at the top of the report. Then look for delete. It will give you one last "are you sure" and then it will delete.

From a List All report select:

More | Delete these records ...

Using the API:

https://www.quickbase.com/db/DBID?act=API_PurgeRecords

There is no confirmation on the above API method - it will immediately purge all records in the table with no opportunity to recover them if you make a mistake.

I can't believe that QB does not give an easier solution than this.  If I have 100 records and I want to set a quick filter to say, 45 of them, and delete those records, I have to write a report?!?  What about users that don't have access to create reports?

They *almost* have what I think would be standard, in the form of the predefined filters.  But if these automatic filters (on the left side of my default Dashboard) are showing, then it just so happens that my "more" button does NOT have the "delete these records" option.

So I go searching, and this article only serves to make me more weary....

http://www.quickbase.com/user-assistance/Default.html#deleting_multiple_records.html

"Cut"?  No delete?  In fact I have a "delete" option when I right click in grid mode but it is grayed out.  Not sure why.  The article suggests using CUT, but this just clears the data in the records and does not delete the records, leaving empty shells of records behind.  That is worse than not being able to delete.

Please help - what am I missing here?

Yes I know how to delete all, this was exactly the point.  How do I delete some (NOT all)?

This question remains - with the new QB, you cannot go into Grid Edit and select a single record to delete, nor do a multi-select and delete more than one record.  If I do it the clunky way and open a record then click Delete, it doesn't ask me - like the old QB did - if I want to delete this and move to the next.  Instead, it deletes it and returns me to the report, where I then have to open the next item and delete it.  This is a WASTE of TIME!  Can the QB developers please reinstate both old functionalities?

And an update - I tried this in Google Chrome (Grid Edit, selecting multiple rows, right clicking and deleting) and it works.  So must be an issue with IE.

If you have a good example for QuickBase support you can submit it as a bug to fix - they are very interested in bug fixes for the new UX.
