I have a projects table with a 1:n relationship with a jobs tables where its 1 project to many jobs.

I can get this to work on the jobs form where I have a drop down that has browse and another window comes up to search for the project to associate with the job.

BUT how do I get the same thing to work on the projects form so that when editing/adding a project, you can browse for a job and add it to the project?

Hi Steven,

Unfortunately this is not possible in QuickBase. This is because QuickBase is designed so that the only way 2 records are connected is by using the parent's Record ID# as the reference field on the child record. If there is a record in the jobs table that needs to be connected to a project then you will need to update the child record in jobs. The project record is not aware of a related job until it is already connected which is why you cannot use the parent record to connect to the child.

Thanks,

Tracy
