This entry documents how to use user defined variables to introduce both the image onload technique and the getScript technique into your page;

Pastie Database

The advantage of using user defined variables is that once they are setup in your application you can create any number of new instances of the techniques with easy to remember formulas that merely specify the user defined page where the script is located:

[iol] & "module.js" & [/iol]

[script] & "myscript.js" & [/script]

I can't think of any reason to not put these four user defined variables into every application as they will allow you to perform any manner of customization rapidly by just supplying the name of the user defined page and creating a simple formula as indicated above.

Dan, do i need to use your image onload technique to "execute a search" somewhere else on the web? i made a URL button that populates fields in the "other place", but i can't figure out how to write in the url for "click" or "enter".
