Is it possible to display a summary field with a link to the detail records in a map report similar to the way we can in a table report? If yes, how?

I have the "display as a link to the detail records" checked on my summary field, but when I include this field in a map report it does not link the user to the detail records from that type of report.  Is this possible to do?  Is there a report setting I need to adjust?  I'm looking for an answer in native QB.  I do not have the ability to utilize add-ins.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

no problem

So, when you say "include this field in a map report", I assume you mean that summary field being 1 of the two fields you can show when hovering on the pin.  Yes, if you just include for example the Summary field for [# of children] all you get is the number of children with no ability to drill down.

But you can create your own drill down report as a URL and use that field.

Make an <ask the user> report on your details drill down Child table where the report is looking for the value for [Related parent]

Then on the Parent table, make a URL formula field like this one, but of course change the table name and the Query ID#.  In my own test example 1 Candidate has many Votes and I was mapping candidates with a drill down to Vote Addresses.

URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_VOTES] & "?a=q&qid=6&nv=1&v0=" &ToText([Candidate]);

I also tried to get an actual hyperlink to work, but did not succeed to display the # of votes on the pin as a hyperlink to the drill down target report.

If "wasting" a precious 1 of the ow fields on the drill down is a problem, keep in mind that the first field selected can be as large a concatenated field as you like, for example to concatenate several fields to together in a long string such as
