We are switching from Outlook calendars to Quickbase calendars in our small office. One of the things that we like about printed outlook calendars is the time/date footer so that we know we are looking at the most recent version of the calendar.  Is there a way to get a quickbase footer to print at the bottom of the calendar report?

There is not a native way to have QuickBase provide the date and time, but when you print the calendar you are printing a web page.  You can configure your browser to control the headers and footer which print.

Each browser is a bit different, but for example, in Firefox you go to

File

Page Setup

Margins Headers and Footers, and select the date/time and also de-select anything that you do not want printed such as the ugly URL

While you can't control the header and footers with JavaScript (you have to configure the browser as Mark describes) it is possible in at least Chrome to create an overlay which obscures the header and footers. Additional CSS / JavaScript can then display custom headers and footers of your choice on top of the obscured headers and footers configured by the browser. See awe's answer and example in this StackOverflow question.

Disabling browser print options (headers, footers, margins) from page?

  • In Chrome newer versions, the browser header and footer is hidden if the @page margin is set so small that the header/footer position conflicts with content. In my opinion, this is exactly how this should behave.
