When adding fields to a formula, I have to scroll through a very very long list of fields. Is there a way to filter within the drop down of field names?

There is not. So Frustrating!!! 

Here is what I do: On one screen or in one window, I open my table settings on the fields page for the table I am building the formula on. On the other screen or window, I have my formula box. 

This allows you to use the search functions in the field list and copy and paste them into your formula box. Just remember to add the [ ] brackets around the field name. 

For example, if your field name is 'Project Name', just add [Project Name] into your formula box. 

Not perfect, just something I do probably 37 times per day.
