Can anyone provide me with a code to program a button that will send a file from a file attachment field to an email address listed on a field on the same profile?

Basically we have Vendor Profile pages set up for a client account.  We are looking for a way that we can have a button that will send a document to an email address listed on the profile page.  For instance if we have pre-loaded forms that the vendors need to fill out is there a way we can have a button coded to pull the file attachment from one field, and send it to an email address listed on another field?

You can't send a "file attachment" in an email unless you use a 3rd party tool like Juiced Technologies' QBCourier.

However, with the new QuickBase feature which allows you to allow non-users to access/download a file attachment which is linked in an email without having to access QuickBase, you can still do this.

From what you have provided, it looks like you will have a list of "stored" documents in a table which should be accessible to anyone, and are not record-specific.  If this is the case, build a formula-URL link to (each) of the files; and then add the formula-URL fields to an email notification from which they can download the files.

You will also need to make sure that the file attachment fields where you store these documents have the "Allow open access" checkbox turned on.

URLRoot() & "up/" & [_DBID_TABLE_ALIAS] & "/a/r" & [Record ID#] & "/e107/v0"

The [Record ID#] represents the key field (in this case Record ID#) of the record where the file attachment is stored.

107 represents the Field ID# of the file attachment field where the document is uploaded into.
