I have a table that contains all learner information - when they started their course, if they completed and if they withdrew.

We are creating a new table for learning statistics. In the new table I want to be able to show the number of learners that started in an academic year.

I have created a field and want to count the number of learners that started based on the [Academic Year] field being populated with '14/15'

Then i need to do the same for if the academic year is '14/15' and Status is completed and a further one for the same as withdrawn so i can calculate the percentages.

I tried to put it all together in a summary table but it seemed this would be the best way to do it?

Please can someone advise? Still working at a lower level on quickbase, for now!

I suggest creating a new Table called Academic Year.

Create a field called Academic Year as a text field.

Use settings to get to the field list and set the Key field to be that Academic year field.

Next make a relationship where One Academic Year has Many Academic records. On the right hand side of the Relationsgip be sure to use your field that holds the academic year.

Then add Summary fields using the button on the left side of the a relationship to count the detail records with various filters. You do not need to filter on Year as the Relationship does that for you

Next year, just add a new Academic Year record and all the statistical field will automatically populate.
