For example, I have the following parent child relationship:

Using the above data model, I would like to populate a custom drop down menu within a 'child' form with *select* values that exist in the parent table.

For example, I envision populating my drop down menu with values that come from the following query:

   SELECT Parent_Record.Customfield2 FROM Parent_Table WHERE Parent_Record.Customfield1 = 'Hello'

Running the above query will add the following selectable values into my custom drop down menu (present within a child form) :

 > PassToChildValue1
 > PassToChildValue2

You are on the right track, but you will need another table, to join the two together.

You have the [Parent] & [Child], but if you want to have two dropdowns from those tables, you will need another table.  Whatever that situation is, then you can have both dropdowns.  The 2nd of which can be conditional.

You can set the conditional values of the field by accessing the field properties and checking the box and filling out the conditional values
