Does the capability exist to "Copy this record" for a large number of records at the same time? There is a need to copy/duplicate 650 records/rows in an existing table.

When you open a record, in the "More" drop down there is a selection for "Copy this record". The challenge we face is that there are 650 records that need to be duplicated (in the same table) and then some minor modifications would be made but 95% of the data in each record is the same.

This table has 132 fields and 7 table to table relationships with many lookups. We want to preserve all of those relationships when copying/duplicating.

The "Copy this record" does exactly what we want to do, but that solution doesn't scale to have someone open every record and manually copy.

I've search in numerous help forums but could not find a solution.

My suggestion is to create a button to do a Copy Master Detail, but i gather that there are no children records to copy as you said that the Copy This Record works for you except its too slow.  The wizard to create the button is under Settings for the application, and then App management.

You will need a field which is a text data entry field which the button will edit to call it like Copy of Project Star Trek assuming that the project name was Project Star Trek.

That will make it a quicker process but it would be quicker yet if you could click the URL formula button equivalent of that which would create the copy and then redirect to a report of project not called Copy of .....  Contact me off line via the information in my profile if you would like some help in making that URL formula button.  If you had that button while it would be 650 clicks, they would be 'mindless" click that would take about 3 seconds each, so 30 minutes of clicking.

The button would make the copy and refresh the report with 1 less record to be copied.
