I have an app called Advertisers with an Advertisers table and a contact table. The advertisers table is the parent to a child contact table. When I import the Contacts table, the records do not follow the relationship structure and automatically sync with the Parent app. I need help.

You basically have two choices.

The Record ID# of the Advertisers table is likely the [Record ID#] field, and you likely have a Relationships where 1 Advertiser has many Contacts.

The so called "reference" field on the child table which is the field on the right side of the relationship is probably called [Related Advertiser] and in fact that field holds the [Record ID#] of the Related (Parent) Advertiser.

So.... one way to populate that field is to dump the Architect names into excel along with the QuickBase Record ID#, and then using Excel do a =vlookup formula to lookup the Advertiser Name and obtain the Record ID# and import that into the [Related Advertiser field].

Of course, that will only work of the Advertiser name is spelled letter perfect identical to how it is loaeed in the Advertiser table.  For a 1 time import, that is the best option.

Plan B, if these imports will happen regularly might be to change the Key field of the Advertiser table to the Advertiser Name.  A downside of that is if you edit that Advertiser name even to correct an insignificant seeming correction like a period, it will then disconnect that Advertiser Parent from any child records such as Contacts Contacts or any other child records in the app, so it's not recommended unless if super important that you be able to import contacts regularly without the Excel manipulation.
