How do I limit the number of fields that appear on the drop down list of fields when using a specific Table's Advanced search function?

In one table, for example, I have too many fields and the list of fields to choose from is cumbersome.   

Second question >> Regardless of how this is done, if I was to remove a whole bunch of fields from that list, will all of my reports, lookup fields, summary fields, formula fields, etc.  from anywhere in my app continue to function as intended?

If you view the field list and then use Options at the top right, you will see that you can show the Reportable as a checkbox.

A field which is unflagged may not be used in reports.  That will remove that field from the drop down list for Advanced Search.  It will not hurt any formulas and lookups or summaries, it just affects reportability, not calculations.


I suggest that you unflag one field and see how it affects the Advanced search and also how it affects a report that was already using a field that was flagged as not reportable.  I think may show up in red on the report builder. 


That Reportablility property is also on the Field Properties for the field, but if you have many to unflag then then field list method is quicker.
