Why is "Address" not listed in my options of field types? I can see "Phone Number" and "Email Address," but no "Address" option.

I want to change my field type from "Text" to "Address" in order to create a map with this data. However, when I go to Field Properties and try to change the type, Address is not one of the listed options.

If you have old style address files or even a single multiple line address block type text field, I suggest that you export the data to excel and manipulate it into the six separate address Address components which you see in an Address field type.  When you export, include the Record ID field.

Then import your data once it has been cleaned up, and map the excel fields into the address component fields.

If your data does not lend itself to easy excel manipulation, you may just be faster to re-enter the data manually.  The Address fields do have a very useful search and auto complete feature in that top box, so that may be faster.

So, "choose your poison" neither method may be easy,

You cannot change a "Text" field type to an "Address" field type because the Address field is not a single-field.  Also, you cannot convert Summary or Lookup fields from one "type" to another "type" - you have to re-build those.  Mark's suggestion is the solution here.
